Noism Company Niigata has been invited to participate in the cross-border international dance festival “Visavì Gorizia Dance Festival” held in the cities of Nova Gorica, Slovenia, and Gorizia, Italy. We will perform “The Song of Maribito” directed and choreographed by Jo Kanamori, at the SNG Nova Gorica.
Originally premiered in May 2023 at an outdoor stage in Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture, “Selene, or The Song of Maribito” has been revised for the stage and renamed “The Song of Maribito” which will open the festival.

This festival will mark its sixth edition in 2025 and will be held as part of the official cultural programme of “GO!2025 Nova Gorica Gorizia” which will be held in conjunction with the designation of both cities as European Capital of Culture by the EU. This will be Noism Company Niigata’s first performance in Slovenia, and it will also be the first time that a Japanese dance company has been invited to the Visavì Gorizia Dance Festival.

In this workshop, Jo Kanamori (General Artistic Director of Noism Company Niigata) will instruct participants the selected elements of Noism Method.
