Since 2018, Noism Company Niigata has been holding the Body Workshop for the Blind and the Deaf. By touching the bodies of professional dancers and moving together with music, it is a valuable opportunity not only for people with disabilities but also for dancers themselves to feel and enjoy a new world with each other. We will proceed in a way that is easy for first-timers to participate, so please feel free to join us.

Description
This workshop brings together people with visual or hearing impairments and Noism1 associate members who are training to become professional, dancers to explore the possibilities of the body and communication by sharing each other’s sensory experiences. Through a variety of physical experiences — such as skin sensation, how weight is shifted, and awareness of others nearby — we aim to create a place where participants can learn from one another. Companions and caregivers are also warmly welcome to join.
