RYUTOKAI vol.28 Tatsuya Yabe × Sawako Iseki

―We deliver the authentic. The relationship and inseparability of music and dance.

Mr. Tatsuya Yabe is one of the most active violinists in Japan as a leader of orchestra with his refined and beautiful tone and deep musicality. Mr. Yabe and Sawako Iseki first met at the Saito Kinen Festival Matsumoto 2011. He says that the performance directed by Jo Kanamori, performed by Noism made a great shock on him, and his understanding of dance, which had been abstract, led him to realize that “dance is a deep art form through the human body.” Since then, he has watched Noism’s performances almost every time. In addition, since 2020, Noism has also performed at the main concert of the “SaLaD Music Festival” held in Tokyo every year, and has performed with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, of which Mr. Yabe is the solo-concertmaster. What does art mean for Mr. Yabe, a musician who had been selected as the solo-concertmaster of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra at the age of 22, and who has always been active on the front line? In the 12 years since they met at Saito Kinen, dancer Sawako Iseki, who has shared great respect and inspiration with Mr. Yabe, searches for the answer.
